A daredevil cyclist reached a world record speed recently on a specially designed rocket-powered bicycle. Francois Gissy clocked up an impressive 333 kilometres per hour in under five seconds on the modified bike at a motor racing circuit in Le Castallet, France. Gissy’s bike was designed by his friend, Arnold Neracher, and features three rocket engines. Over 13 million people have since viewed the record breaking ride footage on YouTube showing Gissy’s run from the perspective of a rear-mounted camera. The super speedy bicycle shoots off and covers just over 400 metres in less than seven seconds. Previously, Gissy’s rocket-powered bike went up against a Ferrari sports car with the vehicle left trailing behind as the bike accelerated with incredible velocity. Vroom!a
