WWE Champion Big E has his sights set on Roman Reigns and becoming a dual champion.
KRASH: How would you describe your wrestling style?
Big E: I would say I’m a powerhouse but I can also move. I’m a powerhouse that can run fast – that’s me!
KRASH: How did it feel to win the WWE Championship?
Big E: Beating Bobby Lashley in Boston felt incredible but what makes it so fulfilling is the outpouring of love from fans. So many people wanted this for me and came up and said to me they’re proud of me and it was a long time coming. The respect from peers and fans is what really makes this so special.
KRASH: Which WWE Superstar who you look up to have you gotten to meet?
Big E: I was a massive Goldberg fan as a kid. I got to meet him for the first time in the late 90s when I was a kid and again recently flying to Crown Jewel. He was in the same row as me on the plane. At the airport we were talking about college football and the fact I played at Iowa. It was really mind-blowing to have talked to him first as a kid who saw him as my hero and now as a peer who is appearing on the same shows.
KRASH: What’s been your fave match to watch as a fan?
Big E: I’ll go with Sasha and Bianca at WrestleMania. I want to show those two some love because they deserve it. They were incredible and it’s such an iconic moment to see two black women go out there and just put on a classic match. I’m such a massive fan of both of them.
KRASH: Who do you view as your most serious competition?
Big E: The Big Dog, Roman Reigns. I think he’s had an incredible run. To see him push through and get to this point is wildly impressive. He’s at the top of the heap of this industry right now and to be the best you want to beat the very best – iron sharpens iron.
KRASH: If you could write your own WWE storyline, what would you make happen?
Big E: I would unify the World Championships at WrestleMania 2022, so it would be Roman Reigns versus me in a singles match and I would walk away with two titles on my shoulders.
KRASH: What do you love doing outside of wrestling?
Big E: I got to do an animated show called Lazor Wulf, which was a tonne of fun, so I want to do more voice work. I was also in a short film called Our Heroes Rock that tells the story of Ruby Bridges through hip-hop and animation. That’s been a big labour of love. And there are so many people who’ve helped give me a leg up in my career, so I want to help others too and do more charitable things. I have a lot I want to accomplish and I’m excited to do all of it.
