We’re kickin’ it old school and going right back to where it all began in Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Those little yellow guys we all know and love are back on our screens with their master, Gru. But instead of joining them for an adventure in the present day, we’re going back to where it all began for the former criminal mastermind and his helpers.
In the 1970s there was big hair, lots of disco and flared pants, as well as a super cute 12-year-old boy called Gru. He’s always had a bit of a mischievous streak and looks up to Vicious 6, a supergroup full of villains he wants to be like. So, Gru hatches a plan to become just as evil as them – with the help of his loyal crew, the Minions. We see Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Otto from the first film, Despicable Me, as well as a new Minion desperate to please Gru and help him achieve his ultimate goal of becoming a cunning, evil hero.
Gru’s plans are kicked into overdrive when he learns the Vicious 6 have got rid of their leader – famous fighter, Wild Knuckles. What an opportunity for Gru to be a member of the supergroup he’s been dreaming of! Gru shows up to interview for a place in the crew, but it’s not all smooth sailing. Before he knows it, Gru finds himself a mortal enemy of the Vicious 6 and on the run from the group he wanted so badly to be a part of. Whoops!
