Story: Based on the DC Comics and second instalment in the film series, Shazam! Fury of the Gods continues the story of a special teenager named Billy Batson who when reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!” transforms into his adult superhero alter-ego, Shazam. In this action-packed adventure, Billy and his foster siblings are forced to confront the villainous Daughters of Atlas. With the evil demi-gods accessing a powerful weapon that could potentially destroy the world, Billy faces his biggest challenge yet. The film is expected to continue the success of the critically acclaimed 2019 movie, Shazam!, with plenty of excitement and laughs.

Shazam! (originally known as Captain Marvel) was the subject of Hollywood’s first ever superhero film adaptation, Republic Pictures’ Adventures of Captain Marvel in 1941.

Both DC Comics and Marvel Comics once had a hero called Captain Marvel. Around 2011, DC Comics renamed their Captain Marvel to Shazam, to avoid further disputes. Both franchises released film adaptations in 2019.
The character of Shazam champions an ancient wizard who possesses “wisdom of Solomon, strength of Hercules, stamina of Atlas, power of Zeus, courage of Achilles, and speed of Mercury.”
Shazam! Fury of the Gods represents the twelfth film in the DC Extended Universe and is the first DC Extended Universe movie to use the DC Studios name.
In the lead up to filming Shazam! actor, Zachary Levi, dyed his hair black and stacked on nine kilograms of muscle. However, Levi was still too slender and had to wear a padded Shazam suit.
