Gold Bugatti

The Legendary Speed Freak Goes For Gold!

In an awesome display of prestige and power, Bugatti has unveiled its latest masterpiece at Monterey Car Week – the literally golden Bugatti Mistral. This sick creation continues the French automakers’ tradition of turning out the most epic road specimens!

One year after the Mistral debuted, it’s back – this time it’s going for gold, and taking the stage alongside the Gold Era Chiron. Created through Bugatti’s Sur Mesure program, which allows unlimited customization – it is also the last use of the legendary W12 engine!

Every inch of the exterior is splashed in the slick gold shade, a finish that draws attention and brags luxury, similar to the ‘Dore’ (gold in French) finish that the Chiron Super Sport Golden Era wears.

The difference between the two is the Mistral lacks the automotive sketches on the side and the black front fascia, as the boys at Bugatti prepared an almost entirely gold paint scheme instead!

The lower section of the body is pure carbon fibre, as well as the engine cover and the dual intakes behind the seats. Meanwhile, the mirrors display a carbon fibre pattern with a shiny gold finish, and the wheels are gold with contrasting black elements. Notice a pattern here?

For the exposed cabin, Bugatti chose two-tone shades of leather, a heavy hit of carbon fibre, and, unsurprising to no one – a gold finish for the EB logo proudly displayed on the steering wheel!

Under the hood, the heart of the Mistral remains true to its heritage. The 8.0 litre W16 quad-turbo powerplant, known for its whipping performance, remains untouched. The W16 is not made up of two V8 engines, it is actually a single, quad-turbocharged engine with one common crankshaft with 1,578 horsepower, and able to do 0-100 km/h in 2.3 seconds! Top speed is electronically limited to 420 km/h – if you’re lucky enough to get there!

As the final car to house this iconic engine – used by Bugatti since the late ’90s – the Mistral holds a special place in automotive history and receives legend status!

As a symbol of luxury, performance, and heritage – the gold avatar is more than fitting. With only

99 examples being built, at $5 million each, all were sold out in a heartbeat – quicker than a Taylor Swift concert!
